I talk often about how my high school British Lit teacher nearly killed it for me, often it was said, we can't react, we must get through this material, thank God I was saved at the U of Iowa and finished a degree in English/creative writing. Her daughter went on to teach music and choral for my daughter, and none of them sang, it was so disappointing.
