you learned that young, from J.D. Salinger.

no matter what kind of crap job you've done, be the best damn worker on the job. those years at The Abbey Hotel, everybody watching couldn't believe their eyes. yeah, but it wasn't for show. I wish Ronnie would have read. went there listening to Mountain Stage in my car, then the shuttle when I got there, listening to Garrison Keillor. omg, good times. didn't even need to work that job, Alec's check would have gone up. Beth at home, with grandpa, watching Red Green, her little wheels turning.

He ain't heavy, Beth, he's my brother. Alec.

took him all over to many peditricians, and they never knew how to handle him. some gave me stink eyes, thinkin' I'm a bad mother. a lot of that was from targeting, it got around. do they even know, You walking out one door in the house, and Dave walking out the other one, and who's the one who turned around. I think I was going to meet a guy, can't remember.

The teens

are we calling them Gen Y, or Gen Z. ugh.  the poets hated categories, especially Keats, and that was a long long time ago. is it true that teens don't know about faxing.  don't know.

PEP activities, lots of em with Alec and sometimes Beth

I think it was a St. Patricks Day party, and we all played Bingo. Alec won, and got a gift, and I had him pick out crayons and coloring book. the one male volunteer there may have may have gotten the wrong impression when the party ended.  He wanted to pick up his crayons, and put em back in. "No.  Alec will do it himself." probably my fondest memory of those events was square dancing, lots of adults, no idea, the clients didn't really get into it. Alec loved it.  it was a wonderful Spring day, and I had no addictions.

well, you've been waiting. This is Eliza.

lost new doggie business. kinda wondered if this would happen. hmm.

with Eliza, thought she'd eat like all my other doggies, a bowl at breakfast, a bowl at supper, so we're leaving it out just like we did for Deoge.  she's good about going outside though, and doesn't bark or scratch at the door to come in.  just a little bit of nipping, but then we've been putting her in the kennel to settle down.

Had to set that straight. They all have that problem.

called the vet and said we're gonna be a little late, my family wants to say goodbye to Deoge. She says to me, We can reschedule for 3:30. you know, this is death, I told her, this isn't an appointment. at the last minute, my mom didn't want to, so I made the fucking stupid 1:45 appointment. When we went in, nobody was in there, no other pets.

my family is giving me a lot of static over getting a pit bull.

so I called the Scott county humane society, where we're getting her, asked some questions, woman said, Eliza loves everybody. yeah.  I kinda got that on first impression. Phil's son is just tickled, since he has two pitty's. she'll like it here, free reign of the house, deck and fenced in yard. she'll probably eat a lot more than Deoge, wish Phil was working.

looks like I'm getting long-term doggie business while the woman works during the day.

doesn't want her to be in a kennel all day.  Will be like 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. mostly, but there be nights too. She's working with the disabled, thru Imagine the Possibilities, so I'm only charging her 10 dollars a day, since she's doing God's work.  it's a German Sheppard mix. Gosh, I sure as heck hope Eliza and this one get along.

was told on FB by a friend, he's more concerned about humans than animals

how exactly does that work? anyway, looks we'll be getting Eliza, female one year old pitty. idk.  Phil wants something in the house, but Phil, what about my doggie business? Eliza was a stray, brought in by the police. whoever does that to a dog should be hung. when we met her, she was already licking my face. I'll try to post a pic when we get her, she's brown and white, and Phil is happy we won't have to get her groomed, since that used to run us 65 bucks. I'm trying to be excited, but I'm still in mourning.

had a busy day yesterday

health assessment in home nurse came by, I got a free gift and will get 50 dollars added to my U-card.  they used to give gift cards, but probably figured it wasn't going to health.  ha. then we went to Davenport so I could see my therapist, I asked her to make it brief, cuz Phil was complaining that he was waiting in the car, and that he had to drive me. My therapist, Laura, has to be up to Mayo soon, can't see me again til April.  I didn't ask her what for, she just said surgery.  Heart goes out to her. but I wanted Phil to come, cuz we stopped at Walgreen's and wanted him to pick out what he wanted off the OTC U-card. took the back way home, like always, with Phil, it's scenic, but the cops, sheriffs, are always around the Park View area. But we were home in time for Jeopardy.

looks like I'm getting doggie business over spring break.

from what I gather this dog doesn't get along well with other dogs, so if anybody else calls, I'll have to turn them away.  I'll still earn $140 though from this doggie. Sheila, with little Oliver, is working at the new liquor store in town, she showed me pics, and he's not so little anymore!  such a pretty dog. we gave her all of Deoge's leftover food and treats. I always tell everybody that calls, my business helps, usually, from separation anxiety, no kennels required, unless you want to bring one, sometimes helpful for the puppies, but little Butter liked to sleep with us.   unless  I really have to, I'd rather not get into some kind of cleaning job again out in the big bad world.  gonna put my flyer up again today at Randy's grocery.  see what happens.

today it's the snow scraper

tomorrow it will be my favorite bowl. the next day my favorite jeans. Go find it!  the snow scraper goes in the backseat of Whitey! turns it all around, and says I've been off my meds for 3 days, calling me names. I thought I put Whitey away, guess I didn't. it's really pretty out right now.

oh shit!

No antibacterial soap, honey, it kills healthy bacteria. I should have gone with you.  In all our discussions, didn't we discuss this?  whatever.  I'll use it.

She knows she's dying, Sheri. Tomorrow will be the day to put her under.

Deoge was the best damn dog, ever! Helper, for Alec, Get him up Deoge, make him come! Running Buddy, loved her house, and especially mommy, kisses in the bed in the morning to wake me up. Never hurt a fly, loved pizza, loved the kids. never wanted to be away from mommy. didn't get a bucket list, Deoge, but  it's a final finish, and you won! see you in heaven.

what, was that, sometime kids growing up, brother Jason in the car, and Alec threw his shoes out the window.

I think we went to Adventureland first, then took Beth to camp.  She left her pillow in the hotel room, then we went back and got it, Why she would ever bring it in, no idea. we also went back to look for his shoes, not sure, probably didn't find them. that day, not getting too far away, you were pulled over by a cop. you were bawling, not a good impression on Jason or your kids. don't remember the charge.

yesterday, I wore my tight skinny jeans, and with my long fuzzy black boots, and

my doc said I looked nice,.but Phil, when we were driving home was dead serious, insisting that we have romp when we got home, said he'd been staring at my butt all day, wanted to get behind me.  alright, alright. it was just our normal though. I bought these jeans at Family Dollar I think for 7 dollars, it was a good find cuz most of their clothes are XL, on up. anyway, we had a good day, but I wanted to go to Walgreens and get some frozen goods that are covered on my card, for my parents, and Alec.  ended up getting fruits and veggies at WalMart, none of their products have stickers saying OTC, so I still don't know what I can get there. wouldn't hurt me to read my snail mail. we'll go some other time this month, to Walgreens. Phil doesn't think we should be buying them food, but it's the least I can do, she's paying our water bill!

I said you got that right.

what all people have you supported, Sheri?

Special Olympics and Down syndrome CF MS mental illness the blind Compassion International Doctors Without Borders Doctors Against Torture the Sierra Club NPR churches local musicians the Salvation Army homeless shelters women's domestic abuse shelters funerals neighbors Girl Scouts Ameri-Corps dogs (you're leaving out over 20.  yeah, but wanna look Too good.  ha.)

late last night, I was at the kitchen table taking my Scoobies, and Deoge was seeing her reflection thru the sliding glass door, wagging her tail.

she still remembers being in the cage for her first 3 months with her brother from the litter, last two he had.  she thought she was seeing him last night in her reflection, they looked exactly alike. I should have gotten both of them, but didn't have enough money, it was Christmastime. he promised he'd sell the last one.

CF walk Quad Cities women

"We need to give out these Happy Joe's discount cards out singularly." I had made 3 in one envelope, severaly envelopes. So glad you never went back to the CF walk, Sheri. did it a long time though. all your work was unrewarded. another place that treated you like an other.
