identity politics is sometimes a given for Republicans, they don't think it needs protection, but when it comes to defending yourself, the 2nd ammendment is always there for them. They won't take on real progressive issues because they don't want to lose the Religious Right. Republicans are more free to have greater opportunities for things like health care, jobs, and relationships. They don't understand that government is for the people, and if they really love all the troops, they'd love that service mentality, instead, they are the least likely to volunteer, give money to charity, or trust anyone down on their luck.
