Mothers, when your 18 year old son is diagnosed with schizophrenia

Stop being a control freak.
Suggest him working on a farm, or in landscaping.
Get a new family pet, and let your son live with you.
Realize he will sleep. a lot.
Make it his responsiblity to take his meds and get to doc appts.
he is not a broken person, he is carrying this like a soldier. Respect!
Don't start correcting him, blaming him, and being like you're the total normal person. Take inventory of yourself!
Be an example of what you hope he will be, but realize, he may not.
Let him make mistakes.
Take the good with the bad, and remember, he may not see the future.

I'm more rational today

just a combination of many things, social media, no free speech, after all the time I've spent, Phil's diagnosis, my fight for justice inching on 30 years of fighting, and seeing no light at the end of tunnel, thinking I'm doing it all myself, and can't get a simple reply of encouragement. plus I do everything to access, and getting burnt out so often, they made fun of me about that too, when so many people are like me.  you think you got me figured out, think again! I've decided to stay on my blog, and keep Messenger, and the internet, but no social media posts anymore, but I haven't deleted any account.
