yep, heard all of them

Sheri Grutz 2 mins · This is a picture of us shortly before I found out we were being watched, and years before I knew about surveillance issues, and even longer before I started getting hit with weapons.

this is one of the best painting I've done...it's called, Spring.

The Greats

Iowa City (first poem in the Cities series)

Iowa City The words would open like blinds and seeing out with our internal vision too much where there to be lost all the days in step toward this passing or failing or sliding by on one last dream love quickens the pace until breaking into dance the hospital grows and grows right along with you all was said on fate merely on the face sunburned and sad words hanging from lips like smokes

what I ordered today, Phil.

absolutely!

We lost our weed! I think he got a little too top heavy. Oh gawd.

The Purse (an all silent sketch)

The Purse by Sheri Grutz The Purse (an all silent sketch) Lights up on stage with a background of a small broken down apartment, with an easel in the side right with paper on it, a door in the back, and man standing there dressed in white. He jumps up, throws his hands up in the air, and then goes out the door. He enters from stage Left, and people are walking with him and toward him on Center stage. He sees a woman with a large purse, and runs up to her and snatches it, and she shakes her head, then continues to walk with a lift in her step off stage. The man comes in through door in the back, and he opens the purse, and there's another purse inside, so he discards the outer purse, then continues opening up the next purse, only to find another purse, and another and another, til all the purses are lying on the stage floor. The final purse he opens, he jumps it out, and there is one black Sharpie inside. He jumps up, and runs to the easel. He draws a pi...

I Want to be a Writer (a brief essay)

The writer is the best conveyor of truth through a means of making clear just how people are, what they do, think, say, and believe, and against a backdrop of something based on actual living, or character development that will make it so.  And when you read so many books, you get the whole setting etched in your brain, you're there, for as long as it takes. The writer can use Bullets, but doesn't.  The writer can use Bold, but doesn't.  The writer can stick to a Left margin, but as I've proved in my own books, you can use Center.  Spacing is optional and can lead to greater freedom the more you use.  I would suggest to the young writer, a pause after each line in poetry should come at the period of the sentence, but if there's no punctuation, then just go ahead and pause after each line on the page. One of the first things that happens when you write something you might like, others might like, is your insatiable need to write more, and more.  Yo...

Women (a brief essay)

When you sell to women, the best thing to do is give it purpose, the product or use of an item should be redefining what she truly believes, and making a more proper life, and care for her comfort or ease and satisfaction come from knowing this will be a worthwhile way of spending money, toward convenience, efficiency, and trusted brands. Women are attending college at an unprecedented rate, making the job market built around having a degree just for entry level work, and creating a tide of over qualified applicants into other fields that may guarantee a more stable position, since the competition is so high.  Women should be able to go into a new job as a graduate, and be awarded a higher salary than what everyone else is getting, merely for their achievements, and not based on company standards. Older women tend to be wearing pants suits, and younger women wear the dresses, and even these older women, like me, as a young person, reading to the congregation at Mass, I wo...

The things I notice not having Alec living here anymore, no more peanut butter knives put back into the drawer, no more 4 empty juice boxes by 5 empty puddings on the coffee table, no more blankets unfolded and thrown everywhere, no more space heater burning up the living room, no more slammed doors in the garage going out to swing, no more water being left on outside, no more knob on our lights being torn off, no more Christmas music coming from the basement and competing with my music, no more bath time covered in markers stains....oh Buddy, miss you.

my next all silent sketch....man in white steals a purse from woman the purse has another purse inside and another purse inside and another finally gets down to the last small one and opens it and there's a Sharpie in, and that's it, goes to easel with paper on it, and he draws a piggy bank, then he goes out on the street sees the same woman and she's carrying a piggy bank, so he steals it from her then goes back inside, dramatic effect that it's empty, so he goes back to the easel and he draws images of money, then goes to the street and sees the same woman.....you;ll have to read grutzworks3 for the rest.

Like China? Well, where are they? And where the hell is NASA? They've all violated every Treaty.

As a result of discussions arising from  Project West Ford  in 1963, a consultation clause was included in Article IX of the Outer Space Treaty: "A State Party to the Treaty which has reason to believe that an activity or experiment planned by another State Party in outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, would cause potentially harmful interference with activities in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, may request consultation concerning the activity or experiment."

No really...this really are...More Stupid Jokes by Sheri

Phil likes boats and taking it easy, and says, I guess that's smooth sailing. Phil does laundry in the dark while Sheri is writing from the heart, and he says, I guess we're both doing inside out. Phil makes coffee kinda weak and says, I know how to get my own kicks. Phil makes brave decisions, and he makes love, and says, "I Like Big Guts, and I cannot lie..."

White Rabbit and Mind Control by Sheri

One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small And the ones that mother gives you, don't do anything at all Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall LSD was used on unwitting citizens during the years of Mk Ultra, to study the random affects on the brain, behavior and speech. Many of these people were psych patients, so you can imagine the kinds of hallucinations going on, all in the name of science. And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you're going to fall Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call And call Alice, when she was just small There is a real point of positioning the target to feel that you have been chosen for the program, though you don't know the reason, and Alice could be the handler you call or go after in trying to figure out what your purpose is. When the men on the chessboard get up and tell you where to go And you've just had some kind of mushroom, and your mind is moving low ...

Updated Will

Update on my Will 3/23/2018 All of my writing goes to Beth, and royalties for my ebooks should be changed over to her account, and any future dealings of publishing, awards, notices, or inquiries should be directed toward her, @ sheadavis15@yahoo.com The 200K life insurance policy through Wendy Henzen American Family Insurance in Eldridge goes to my kids, for burial in a plot next to Phil, anywhere, but I want to be buried. I want the poets Dylan Thomas, and Wallace Stevens read, and inscribed in my funeral. I want my obit to say, No one was ever a stranger to her. The house and all belongings goes to Phil, including the car, and the dog. I'm hoping it will transfer over into his name through USDA rural development, but if it doesn't please sell it, and give any profit to Phil. The dog should never go into a shelter. There is a savings bond in Beth's name, I think somewhere in the house, and that should be given to her. All pictures go to Beth...

The 20 dollar bill

The 20 dollar bill The ATM dream of money that spends well, instant, the bill says, I've added days, and this is what I'm left with, enough to buy back your hard luck along the watchtower for what ship would come in, this is where the money goes on little things you never sweat or think twice about, the bill says, You have enough to cover the cost of wayfaring skies pressed into God's hand, the wallet is full and ready like a man is a straight line shot at redemption.

love this woman..

Good morning. another day in paradise.

The 5 dollar bill (next in the Money series)

The 5 dollar bill The footlong, two thongs, or 6 songs on the jukebox, the more impressive way of tipping, of buying the the best magazine, of the cheap mattinee. I find a 5 folded over like any uncut heart, the most I'd spend on GoodWill, and I know I go cheap or not at all toward all the boys waiting for a dance.

The Dollar bill (poem in the Money series)

The Dollar bill Phil kept a stack of them all uncrumpled, lined the right way, 60, 70, kept going til One meant many, One meant holy, or something we save. All the while the waitress pockets the dollars under a dead ring white light washing her from black hair to black toe, careful to know the end of the night would amount to a greater black car wash, a crisp bill, or one with lettering on it, rarely standing alone in the spent hour.

This is one of the last emails my mother sent me yesterday, just so fucking evil.

I am not sending this to the group as you want them to think you are a  martyr and victim.   It gets real old reading your crap all the time. Where would Alec be without us? I found out when I made the eye Dr appointment that he had one in August but never showed. Why was that?  We all told you we were concerned about his eyes. So he had to go through many months maybe years with this built up pressure. The tubes were calsified and hardened. The Dr couldn't get them out. The valve came out in pieces. This is reality and we saved his eyesight.

Immorality, an essay by Sheri

It's going to be a hard day on the radio today, already hearing sitting around staring at the 4 walls, but I wanted to write a bit about my experience with what the church does to families.  When I grew up, going to church, you had to be modest, polite, humble, participating, well behaved kids.  If you had spirit at all, it was reserved for being cheer leaders.  Once I came upstairs wearing something loose, and my mother said, "You look like a rag, go back and change."  There were several times, when I stopped going to church, and she did the same thing to my daughter.  Churches design this to give an upbringing we can believe in, don't believe in yourself, believe in something greater.  I was sold. This higher standard we hold to those with personal beliefs of righteousness makes the whole world come undone when a crime or sin is committed, really, what I heard once, "It's easy to be beautiful.  It's much harder to appear so."  You take you...

An Essay on Modernism, by Sheri

Reality is definitely questioned in Modernism, the time between wars, the time of so many different movements.  I think what I like best about it is the need for expression in a new way, a thousand different ways to kill Shakespeare, Gertrude Stein called Hemingway:  Yellow, and went on to call her own time, The Lost Generation, meaning possibly that there is no framework to attach to any certain soul through their art and life, no boundaries. Major parts of the world had just sustained The Industrial Revolution, pushing so many into becoming the earliest part of consumer driven society, and so these writers and artists were representing the change in attitude, lifestyle, and creative intention.  What seems the most obviously wrong about this time frame, was anti-Semitism.  It's hard to really know all the greatness of Ezra Pound, running journals, and encouraging so many writers, especially H.D. and knowing his views of hating Jews.  Publishing houses, ...

The Quarter

The Quarter Often outmatched with tokens, my brother could play Ms. Pacman for hours on one quarter, but now he's using them for laundry, the legendary, universal coin bigger than the rest, higher in the air when you call it, either Heads or Tails, the change you get back even if you could cash in all your dreams, save in a big jar, and get a cart at Aldi's.

The Thumb (last poem in the Fingers series)

The Thumb I got a Like from you, an open fist, an open sky, shadow boxing, and looking good for miles, making light of the situation, it says we're cool, we're right on, we're staying positive, the most important finger in the hand, without it, no snap, no grab, the go to one for babies, a little stub, a great big worker, so I got a Like from you, says more than we agree.

Then it's too late

so true..

yes...

Pinkie Finger (next in the Fingers series, by sheri)

Pinkie Finger Crossed with another for a promise all along the outline of the hand, this one is small but tough, rounded head without any thinking, this one is separate from the rest, and full of energy of a completed hand shake, this one can stretch out to the side without noise or fanfare, 4, 4, held up like a family, this baby so mild and gentle knows how to hit the keys, and pick the guitar strings, this one, not to be left out.

Responding to your message, Grassley

Carter Paige was a somewhat Russian spy, and if you're saying that Dems wanted the dirt on him to procure a definite end to Russian meddling would be where we're at right now, something you even admit to with Mueller. You take this whole issue into politics, sadly, when I say, there needs to be a warrant to my surveillance, some sort of threat, or reason to abuse and detain.  I really don't care who falls by the wayside here within the FISA laws or not, and lastly, let me just tell you, intelligence agencies torture, so they don't have citizens or humans interest at heart.

Jesus Christ...

March 16, 2018 Dear Ms. Grutz: Thank you for taking the time to contact me. As your senator, it is important that I hear from you. I appreciate hearing your thoughts regarding the memo prepared by members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) that was declassified by President Trump on February 2, 2018, and subsequently released to the public. As you may know, the memo details alleged abuses by officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) in conjunction with efforts to secure a warrant to surveil a Trump campaign volunteer under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). HPSCI held a vote on January 29, 2018, and agreed to release the four page memo to the public, pending subsequent approval by the President or, failing that, approval by the House of Representatives, in accordance with the Committee’s rules. President Trump announced on February 2, 2018, that he would declassify the memo, and...

Libraries (an essay by Sheri)

When I was a kid, and my mom working until 5 p.m., I'd walk down Main Street from school and spend quite a bit of time at the library, it was warm, it always smelled like antiquity, and I would look for some of the books that my 5th grade teacher read to us out loud every day just after lunch and recess.  I got to know all the authors, and I would start reading certain books, but I would never finish them.  I also liked to look at the maps in the library, and certain kids magazines attracted me to explore more of the world than my small town. In college, the library was where you met people.  I believe it was on the 2nd floor of the Main library in Iowa City, row after row of tables and chairs, and I believe I studied a little bit, but would wander around talking with anyone.  On the 5th floor of this same library, there was a glass enclosed smoking lounge, and I would sometimes skip class to sit in there, smoking and reading Herman Hesse.  I also liked to...
