My review of Rudy's Tacos in the East Village, lunch today. We weren't greeted when we came in, and I had to ask a young woman who seemed to be working there, talking to a couple of people casually at a booth, if they were open. They were open, and the place was lovely in decor, slightly rustic, with light American music playing. Phil choose a far corner booth, cushioned and spacious, easy to get in and out of, but we found out we were sitting right by the take-out window, the only people we saw with masks on. The waitress brought us regular menus, not disposable kind, and we decided quickly. They did not give chips and salsa. I ordered the Southwestern Chicken Salad, and Phil got a combo meal. My came on a beautifully designed big plate, and Phil's came on about 3 separate smaller, slightly boring plates. Food came in about 10 minutes from ordering. His did not come with enchilada sauce. The only thing that came in a bottle was the hot sauce, the red ketchup kind of bottle...
