mmmm, I've gotten there better than this one, but it's ok (today's poem: A and B)

A and B

by sheri

We heard the A-frame turn to Ahhh
sitting on those h's we made into thrones

and feeling the house settle,
even our solid backs creaked a little,

my kids would have been King
if our battles were won

and the sun grew cherry trees we
slept under making a sweet escape.

They are not King and we are not in
the A-frame and we have no cherry wood

end table with a lamp we read our own
history on our faces, walls, low ceiling

or high calling, it really wasn't us.
The A-frame turns to And

while we lie on the bed of it, waiting
so long for the rest of the story,

And you were there, And we wrote
the 'B' how you Been? Hedges of 'e'

it was our plan B I've put myself into.
A two story, a true story, a storied life.
