I'm assuming it's like this, it's the economy, stupid. That the more people work, the less we need to go into debt to cover our seniors, disabled, and health costs. The economy grew during Obama, in natural ways, and that brought down the deficit, but the debt has remained consistent, since there were no reforms done for our programs. Trump will decrease the debt, but add it in other places, nothing is going to change. The claim that Obama doubled the debt, was to in fact stimulate the economy (see stimulus checks) and to count on a new economy to pay itself for Obamacare. He did what he needed to do, and was very responsible.
